Safety

Providing a safe work environment is of the utmost value to BE&K Europe. Loss of precious time or threat to a project work schedule become marginal relative to the personal trauma of an employee involved  in an accident at work.

BE&K Europe’s outstanding safety results are based on a strong conviction that each accident can be prevented. With appropriate safety procedures in place, and dedication of all employees towards the preventive measures, the chances for an accident can be reduced to a minimum.

Our focus on safe work conditions is well reflected in the corporate safety statistics which, for many years now, has located BE&K Europe at the top of the corporate ranking for its impressive safety records. One of the factors contributing to the achievement of such good results is the “Zero Accident” safety program implemented in 1995.

This program rewards each million of safely worked hours with a common picnic and employee gifts. In September 1998, the company reached its first 1.000.000 hours without an accident. 9 months later, in June 1999, BE&K Europe reached 2.000.000 hours without an accident!

Besides the preventive measures, procedures and other actions targeting the improvement of safe work conditions, BE&K Europe devotes a lot of attention to safety training. All BE&K Europe personnel is engaged in a continuous safety training program that consists of:

  • Basic safety training for new-hires (craftsmen):
    • safety orientation organized and facilitated by the company Safety Department
    • specialty safety trainings for particular work stations organized and facilitated by the department supervision ending with a hands-on test
